iPhone Duo Screens Cracking Concerns Emerge
Mumbai, October 25: Customers planning to purchase the iPhone Duo should be aware of recent complaints regarding screen cracks. Several users have reported issues with the inner screen cracking shortly after purchase. One user shared on Reddit that their screen cracked within just six hours of use, despite having folded the device fewer than 20 times.
Images shared by iPhone Duo customers on Reddit show visible damage, raising concerns about the device’s durability. The iPhone Duo, which has recently launched in India and other markets, has been in the spotlight not only for its pricing but also for these alarming screen issues. Reports indicate that some retailers were charging customers over ₹1 lakh due to limited unit availability.
In one instance, an Australian customer reported that their iPhone Duo cracked shortly after starting to use it. They described feeling something unusual around the internal hinge after opening the device a few times. Upon further use, they heard a cracking sound, and the screen broke near the hinge without any visible signs of external damage. The customer later received a replacement unit from an Apple store.
Other shared images online also depict similar damage near the hinge, with bright lines appearing on the inner display. While some initial reviews did not reveal any issues, the growing number of reports from users raises questions about whether this is a widespread problem. Currently, the exact cause of these cracks remains unclear, and accidental damage cannot be ruled out.
As more customers receive their devices, it will be interesting to see if additional reports emerge regarding the screen issues. Apple may collect defective units to investigate the problem and determine if any manufacturing changes are necessary.
For those concerned about potential screen damage, normal wear and tear related to hinge issues should be covered under Apple’s one-year warranty. Buyers also have a two-week window to return their devices. Until more information becomes available, it remains uncertain whether these cracks signify a significant concern regarding the phone’s durability.
