Varanasi, May 28: Renowned South Indian actor and former MP Mohan Babu, along with his son and popular actor Vishnu Manchu, visited the revered Kaal Bhairav Temple in Varanasi on Wednesday. The father-son duo offered prayers seeking divine blessings for the success of their upcoming Telugu film Kannappa.

Their spiritual visit drew significant attention from both locals and South Indian tourists present at the temple. As Mohan Babu and Vishnu entered the temple premises, devotees enthusiastically welcomed them with chants of “Har Har Mahadev,” creating a devotional atmosphere.
The actors are in Varanasi as part of the nationwide promotional tour for Kannappa. Mohan Babu, who plays the role of Mahadev Shastri in the film, is on a spiritual journey, visiting all 12 Jyotirlingas across India to pray for the film’s success. Vishnu Manchu portrays the titular role of Kannappa, a legendary devotee of Lord Shiva.
Later in the day, the father-son duo is scheduled to visit the sanctum of Kashi Vishwanath — one of the most sacred shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and a key spiritual landmark in India.
The Kannappa film has already generated significant buzz with the inclusion of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who will be seen essaying the role of Lord Shiva. The film aims to bridge cinematic traditions from the North and South, offering a devotional saga rooted in Indian mythology.
The Manchu family holds a strong presence in the entertainment industry — Mohan Babu’s sons Vishnu and Manoj are both accomplished actors, while daughter Lakshmi Manchu is known for her roles in television.
As anticipation builds around Kannappa, the temple visit highlights the spiritual foundation and cultural reverence driving the film’s promotional efforts.
