Max Alleyne Injured in FA Cup Match Against Salford City

Manchester, February 14: Manchester City defender Max Alleyne was forced off the pitch due to injury during the first half of Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round match against Salford City. The Blues initially took the lead with an own goal from Alfie Dorrington in the sixth minute, as manager Pep Guardiola made significant changes to the starting lineup following their recent 3-0 Premier League victory over Fulham.

City is currently competing on multiple fronts this season, having gone unbeaten in their last six matches across all competitions, which comes after a challenging start to 2026. In their previous match, City secured a comfortable win, with goals from Antoine Semenyo, Nico O’Reilly, and Erling Haaland, while Arsenal’s loss to Brentford allowed City to close the gap to four points behind the Premier League leaders.

As they shifted focus to the FA Cup, City also prepares for an upcoming Premier League clash against Newcastle United, a team they recently defeated in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

John Stones returned to the starting lineup for Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, taking on the captain’s role alongside academy graduate Max Alleyne. Unfortunately, Alleyne sustained an injury after a collision with Salford City’s Josh Austerfield, leading to his substitution by Ryan McAidoo just 21 minutes into the match.

This is a developing story. More updates will follow.
