Both Accused Are Brothers; Police Crack Down on Culprits
Udaipur, March 17 – In a major breakthrough, Udaipur Police have arrested the second accused in the firing case involving the nephew of Mavli MLA, recovering the illegal pistol used in the crime. The first accused was arrested earlier, and police have now confirmed that both accused are real brothers.
The Incident
The shocking attack took place on March 4, 2025, at around 10:30 PM, when Devilal alias Pintu, son of Dhanraj and resident of Nandwel (Naharmagra), Dubok, returned home from Vinayak Hotel, Roshiya Ghati. As he stepped out of his car to unlock the main gate, a man standing near a water tank approached him from behind, pulled out a pistol, and shot him in the left thigh. The shooter then fled the scene on a motorcycle with an accomplice.
Following the attack, the Dubok Police Station registered Case No. 63/2025 under sections 109(1), 3(5) of the BNS Act 2023, and 3/25 Arms Act, launching an in-depth investigation.
Swift Police Action
Recognizing the seriousness of the crime, Udaipur Superintendent of Police, Yogesh Goyal, directed an expert investigation team under the supervision of Additional SP, Kherwada, Anjana Sukhwal, and ASP Mavli, Manish Kumar. Dubok SHO, Hukam Singh, led the team to track down the culprits.
The investigation team, utilizing technical intelligence and surveillance, first identified and arrested the primary accused, Piyush Singh (son of Mithlesh Singh, resident of Premnagar Colony, Badgaon, Udaipur), on March 6, 2025. During interrogation, police recovered the motorcycle used in the crime.
However, the second accused, Prabhat Singh, had been on the run. After days of search operations, police successfully arrested Prabhat Singh on March 16, 2025, recovering the illegal pistol used in the attack.
Accused Are Real Brothers
Police confirmed that both arrested suspects—Piyush Singh and Prabhat Singh—are real brothers. Their involvement in the crime suggests a well-planned attack, and authorities are probing motive and any potential connections to a larger criminal network.
