Mahindra BE 6 Pack One or Pack Three? Same EMI, But There’s a Catch

Mahindra is stepping up its electrification game with the BE 6, an all-electric SUV that has been making waves since its debut in November 2024. While the base Pack One variant with a 59 kWh battery pack was announced first at ₹18.90 lakh (ex-showroom), Mahindra has now unveiled pricing for the Pack Three variant, featuring a larger 79 kWh battery pack, at ₹26.70 lakh (ex-showroom).

However, there’s a twist—only the Pack Three variant will be available initially. To make this higher-end model more accessible, Mahindra has introduced an intriguing financing scheme called ‘Three for Me’.

‘Three for Me’—Premium EV, Same EMI

Under this programme, Mahindra, in partnership with Mahindra Finance, offers the BE 6 Pack Three at an EMI of ₹39,224 per month—nearly the same as what one would pay for the base Pack One variant. However, there’s a catch.

Breaking Down the Costs

  • Customers need to pay a downpayment of 15.5%, which amounts to approximately ₹4.16 lakh.
  • A monthly EMI of ₹39,224 is applicable for 72 months (6 years), totaling ₹28.24 lakh over the tenure.
  • At the end of six years, a balloon payment of ₹4.65 lakh is required to retain the car.
  • This effectively pushes the total cost of ownership beyond ₹35 lakh—significantly higher than the ex-showroom price.

While the EMI might seem attractive, the overall financial commitment is much higher, making it crucial for buyers to consider the long-term costs.

Feature-Packed and Performance-Driven

The Mahindra BE 6e comes loaded with premium features, including:

  • Twin 12.3-inch floating screens for infotainment and instrument display
  • Two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • 16-speaker audio system
  • Automatic parking, ADAS suite, and a 360-degree camera

Performance and Battery Tech

The Mahindra INGLO architecture underpins the BE 6e, offering two battery options:

  • 59 kWh battery pack (range yet to be disclosed)
  • 79 kWh battery pack, delivering an ARAI-certified range of 682 km

Charging times are impressive, with Mahindra claiming a 20% to 80% charge in just 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC fast charger.

Should You Opt for Pack Three?

The BE 6 Pack Three undoubtedly offers superior range and features, and the ‘Three for Me’ scheme makes it look appealing on a monthly payment basis. However, the balloon payment at the end of the tenure and the higher total cost of ownership may deter budget-conscious buyers.

For those seeking a lower initial cost, waiting for the Pack One variant could be a more prudent decision. However, if longer range and premium features are a priority, the Pack Three variant with the EMI plan might just be the right pick—provided you’re financially prepared for the final payout.
