Lumax Industries inaugurates lighting manufacturing facility in Gujarat

Lumax Industries has inaugurated its 9th lighting manufacturing facility in India at Sanand, Gujarat. The state-of-the-art, automated facility has been setup with an initial capacity of 300,000 car-sets annually, on an area of 7 acres. The plant was setup in record time of 8 months through the concerted efforts of the team and unstinted support from its partners Stanley, Japan and its esteemed customers – Maruti Suzuki India and Suzuki Motor Gujarat.

The company has already invested Rs 100 crore of Rs 120 crore earmarked for this facility, which is expected to commence operations from November 2017. The capex has been funded through internal accruals. This facility is expected to be running at full capacity in FY 2018-19.

This facility shall cater to the requirements of Maruti Suzuki & Tata Motors in the passenger car segment along with Honda’Motorcycle & Hero MotoCorp in the two wheeler space in a phased manner. This plant will also supply the new age LED headlamps and rear lamps for the new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift platform that commences production later this year at the carmakers, Gujarat facility in Mehsana district.
