New Delhi, May 24 – Hero MotoCorp has officially confirmed the launch of two new electric scooters under its Vida sub-brand on July 1, 2025. The announcement came during the company’s FY2025 earnings call, as part of its strategy to expand its presence in the rapidly growing electric two-wheeler market in India.

The upcoming models are expected to be more affordable than the existing Vida V2 lineup, which includes the V2 Lite, V2 Plus, and V2 Pro. Hero aims to make electric mobility more accessible, targeting consumers who currently opt for traditional ICE (internal combustion engine) scooters due to price sensitivity.
New Platform Targeted at Mass Market
While official specifications have not yet been revealed, sources indicate that the two new scooters will be built on a cost-efficient EV platform internally referred to as “ACPD.” This platform is likely to help reduce manufacturing costs, enabling Hero to price the new Vida scooters competitively, potentially even close to petrol-powered scooters.
Hero currently manufactures around 7,000 electric scooters per month. With the addition of these new models, the company expects to more than double production to 15,000 units monthly, indicating a strong push toward scaling its electric vehicle operations.
Dealer Network Growing in Sync
Hero MotoCorp is also expanding its Vida dealership network to support the upcoming launch. As of now, the Vida brand has 203 touchpoints across India, including 180 fully operational dealerships in 116 cities. This network expansion is key to enhancing customer reach and after-sales service capabilities.
Strong FY2025 Sales Momentum
The company reported a 175% year-on-year growth in electric two-wheeler sales, with 48,673 units sold in FY2025 compared to 17,720 units in FY2024. The Vida brand competes in an increasingly crowded segment, going head-to-head with rivals like Ola Electric, Ather Energy, TVS, Bajaj, and Ampere.
The current Vida V2 range is priced between ₹74,000 and ₹1.15 lakh (ex-showroom). A recent price revision has placed the entry-level variant below key competitors, helping Hero capture more value-conscious buyers.
Affordable EV Strategy in Focus
Hero’s strategy clearly points toward aggressive electrification, especially within the budget-friendly segment. The new scooters, launching July 1, are expected to play a pivotal role in expanding the company’s EV footprint and converting more ICE users to electric.
More details about the models—including performance specs, range, and features—are expected to be unveiled at the official launch event.
