LG UltraGear G8 37G800A-B: Specifications and Features

The monitor features a 1000R curved VA panel with a 3840×2160 (4K UHD) resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, delivering immersive visuals and fluid gameplay. It offers a 1ms GtG response time and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, ensuring rich, accurate colors. The display is also VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified, supporting up to 600 nits peak brightness and superior HDR contrast for enhanced visual depth.

The UltraGear G8 supports both VESA AdaptiveSync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, minimizing screen tearing and motion stutter. Gaming-focused features such as Dynamic Action Sync, Black Stabilizer, and an on-screen crosshair help boost accuracy and responsiveness during competitive play.

Connectivity and Design

LG’s new monitor offers extensive connectivity options, including two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB-C port with 65W Power Delivery for charging laptops and data transfer. It also includes two USB-A 3.0 downstream ports, one USB upstream port, and a 4-pole headphone jack supporting combined audio and microphone input.

The monitor features built-in stereo speakers and an ergonomic stand with height, tilt, and swivel adjustments. For wall mounting, it supports VESA 100×100. The back of the panel features LG’s signature RGB Unity Hexagon lighting, adding a stylish ambient glow that complements gaming setups.

Additional Features

The UltraGear 37G800A-B comes with a range of display technologies, including Reader Mode, Flicker Safe, Smart Energy Saving, and HDR Effect. It also supports HDR10 video, includes an FPS counter, customizable shortcut keys, and arrives factory calibrated for color accuracy.

Competitive Landscape

The launch comes amid increasing competition in the gaming monitor market. Recently, AOC introduced its U27G4F with a dual-mode display (4K 190Hz or FHD 380Hz) and the Q27G20SM, which features a 1,152-zone Mini LED backlight and a 320Hz QHD panel, marking a trend toward faster, higher-resolution gaming displays.

With its blend of 4K clarity, 165Hz smoothness, and versatile USB-C connectivity, LG’s UltraGear G8 37G800A-B is positioned as a top-tier option for gamers and creators seeking a balance between performance and design.
