Jaishankar to Expose Pakistan’s Terror Agenda During Europe Visit: To Meet Leaders in Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany

New Delhi, May 19 — In a strategic diplomatic push, India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar begins a crucial six-day visit to the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany today. The visit, which runs through May 24, aims to bolster bilateral ties, discuss regional and global issues, and—most notably—expose Pakistan’s continued support for cross-border terrorism.

Key Focus: Unmasking Pakistan on Global Platforms

As per the Ministry of External Affairs, Jaishankar will meet his counterparts and top leaders in all three nations, where he is expected to brief them on the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack and India’s military response under Operation Sindoor. The diplomatic effort comes shortly after a four-day border skirmish between India and Pakistan earlier this month.

Jaishankar will emphasize how Pakistan-based terror outfits continue to pose a grave threat not only to India but to global peace and stability. He is also likely to seek greater alignment with European nations on the need to hold state sponsors of terrorism accountable.

Operation Sindoor: India’s Swift and Decisive Response

Between the night of May 6 and 7, India launched Operation Sindoor—a precision military campaign in retaliation for the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam. In a 25-minute offensive, Indian forces deployed 24 missiles, targeting and destroying nine terrorist training campsfive in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and four deep inside Pakistan. These camps were reportedly used for recruitment and training by various terror outfits.

Significantly, ten family members of notorious terrorist Masood Azhar were reported killed in the strikes.

Pakistan’s Failed Retaliation and Ceasefire Agreement

In the aftermath of India’s action, Pakistan attempted retaliatory strikes on May 8, 9, and 10, targeting Indian military installations. However, Indian defenses neutralized these attacks effectively. On May 10, both nations reportedly agreed to a ceasefire, bringing a temporary halt to hostilities.

Jaishankar’s visit marks his first international engagement since the recent military confrontation and is expected to shape the narrative around Pakistan’s state-sponsored terrorism in major European diplomatic corridors.

Strengthening Strategic Ties in Europe

In addition to highlighting regional security threats, the visit will focus on expanding bilateral cooperation in areas like trade, climate action, technology, and defense. Discussions will also cover emerging global challenges, including Indo-Pacific stability and counterterrorism frameworks.

Strategic Timing and Global Messaging

The visit is strategically timed to amplify India’s message on counterterrorism ahead of major international summits and underline the need for a unified global front against terrorism. It also seeks to draw attention to the human cost of terrorism and India’s right to defend its sovereignty.
