Udaipur: Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur witnessed a surge in passenger traffic during the month of July, surpassing the numbers recorded in June. Interestingly, the highest number of air travelers this year was recorded in March, with a total of 150,996 passengers.
A comparison of July’s data with that of June reveals an increase of approximately 8,000 passengers at Udaipur Airport. Airport Director Yogesh Nagach informed that the aircraft movement, which stood at 1061 in June, rose to 1105 in July. In July, 553 aircraft arrived at Udaipur Airport, while 552 departed, resulting in a total movement of 1105. Similarly, 61,637 passengers arrived and 59,548 departed during this month, bringing the total number of passengers traveling through the airport to 1,21,185.
The monsoon season, which usually begins in July, is a significant factor in the increase of passenger traffic. While the monsoon arrived in Rajasthan via Udaipur, the region experienced less rainfall than expected. However, tourist arrivals in April, May, and June were considerably higher compared to the previous year. A comparison with July 2023 reveals a significant increase in passenger numbers, with only 106,254 passengers recorded last year.
