Heavy Rainfall to Continue in the Northeast
The northeastern region will remain under the grip of monsoon activity, with light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning expected for the next seven days. Notably, Mizoram is forecasted for extremely heavy rainfall on May 28, followed by Assam and Meghalaya on May 29 and 30.
Eastern and Central India to See Rain and Rising Temperatures
Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and Vidarbha will see thunderstorms and rainfall through May 31. Odisha is expected to receive extremely heavy rainfall on May 27 and 29, while Vidarbha and West Bengal may see significant precipitation on May 29 and 30.
Meanwhile, a rise of 2–3°C in temperatures is expected over north India in the next two days, followed by a gradual drop of 4–5°C over the subsequent four to five days. In central India, temperatures will remain steady for three days before increasing by 2–3°C. Eastern India is not expected to experience any major temperature shifts during the next five days.
