Udaipur, November 28 (Udaipur Kiran): Member of the Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission, Justice Shri Ramchandra Singh Jhala, inspected the Central Jail on Friday. Joint Director of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Girish Bhatnagar, was also present during the inspection.

Justice Jhala inspected the prisoners’ mess, reviewed the quality of food and observed the food preparation arrangements. He also inspected the barracks where the inmates reside. Expressing concern over the large number of prisoners lodged in the jail, he directed the Jail Superintendent to pay special attention to their accommodation arrangements.
Justice Jhala interacted with the inmates and held discussions with the Superintendent and the Joint Director regarding free legal aid, parole, permanent parole and premature release for the prisoners. During the inspection, he also reviewed the availability of medicines and medical facilities at the jail dispensary and discussed related issues with the medical officer, issuing necessary directions.
Earlier, on his arrival at the Central Jail, Jail Superintendent Rajpal Singh welcomed Justice Jhala by presenting a bouquet. He was also given a guard of honour. Justice Jhala interacted with the inmates to gather information about the facilities being provided to them and expressed satisfaction with the overall arrangements.
