Alongside its new foldable smartphone, the Huawei Pura X, Huawei has officially unveiled its latest true wireless earbuds — the FreeBuds 6. The new generation brings several notable upgrades in sound quality, design, and smart functionality, making it a serious contender in the premium TWS audio space.

Refined Design: Smaller, Lighter, Better Fit
Retaining the recognizable waterdrop-shaped stem from the FreeBuds 5, the FreeBuds 6 take a step forward with a 12% reduction in stem size and a 9% lighter build, resulting in a more comfortable and discreet in-ear fit. This semi-open design has been fine-tuned using feedback from over 10,000 users, ensuring better ergonomics and audio optimization.
Audio Performance: Crisp Highs, Deep Bass
The FreeBuds 6 are equipped with a new four-magnet dynamic unit and dual-driver setup, capable of delivering high-fidelity audio across an impressive range:
- Highs up to 48 kHz
- Bass down to 14 Hz
Huawei also improved wireless audio transmission, with the FreeBuds 6 now supporting a 2.3 Mbps bandwidth, offering smoother and richer playback over Bluetooth.
AI Noise Cancellation and Smart Features
One of the most impressive upgrades is the introduction of AI-powered multi-channel noise reduction. Leveraging generative AI, the FreeBuds 6 can accurately identify and suppress background noise — even in environments up to 95 dB or during 8m/s wind speeds. Whether you’re on a crowded street, at a noisy party, or near construction, call clarity remains intact.
Other smart features include:
- Head Tracking Spatial Audio (available on select Huawei phones with Huawei Music app)
- Two dedicated EQ modes via the Huawei AI Life app
- Xiaoyi voice assistant (China only): enables smart commands like setting alarms, navigation, music playback, and real-time translation
Battery Life and Charging
Each earbud is fitted with a 39.5mAh battery, while the case houses a 510mAh cell. Users can expect:
- 5.5 hours of music playback on a single charge
- Up to 36 hours total with the charging case (without ANC)
- 20–25% reduction in battery life when ANC is active
Price, Availability, and Colors
The Huawei FreeBuds 6 are now available in China and come in White, Black, and Purple color variants. Priced at CNY 999 (approximately $140 / €125), the earbuds are already on sale via Huawei’s official channels in the region. Global availability details are expected to follow soon.
