Brutal Killing Inside Court Premises – Verdict Delivered After 16 Years
Udaipur, March 5: Notorious gangster and history-sheeter Imran Kunjra has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the 2009 court barrack murder of fellow prisoner Wasim. The Special SC-ST Court in Udaipur, presided over by Judge Jyoti Soni, pronounced the verdict on Tuesday, imposing rigorous life imprisonment along with a fine of ₹2 lakh.
This sentencing marks the closure of a long-pending case, reaffirming law enforcement’s stance against violent criminals operating in Rajasthan.

The shocking incident took place on May 11, 2009, inside the Udaipur court barrack, where 29 prisoners had been brought from Udaipur Central Jail for their hearings.
Key Developments of the Day
🔹 Among the inmates were history-sheeters Wasim (Khajipir) and Imran Kunjra (Kunjarwadi).
🔹 Around 9:45 AM, loud commotion was heard from the barrack, following which the security personnel rushed in.
🔹 To their horror, they found Wasim lying in a pool of blood after being attacked with a makeshift sharp weapon.
🔹 Investigations later revealed that Imran had broken the handle of a water jug, crafted a weapon, and stabbed Wasim multiple times in the face, chest, and abdomen.
The brutal murder exposed security lapses within the judicial custody system, as a prisoner was able to manufacture a lethal weapon inside the court premises.

The prosecution, led by Special Public Prosecutor Rakesh Mogra, presented 28 witnesses and 59 documents to establish Imran Kunjra’s guilt.
