Udaipur, February 24, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) – HDFC Bank on Tuesday inaugurated its new Tech & Digital Factory in Guwahati, marking its first such facility in Assam and the fourth in the country.

The centre will function as a hub for advanced technology development, innovation and talent incubation in the state. It aims to strengthen Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital and cybersecurity talent pools. The Bank already operates similar Tech & Digital Factories in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Gurugram.
The facility was inaugurated by Himanta Biswa Sarma, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, in the presence of Kaizad Bharucha, Deputy Managing Director, HDFC Bank, Ramesh Lakshminarayan, Chief Information Officer, HDFC Bank, dignitaries from the Government of Assam, representatives of participating educational institutions and bank officials.
Commenting on the development, Kaizad Bharucha said the Bank had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Assam Government at Advantage Assam 2.0 in February 2025 and successfully set up the facility within a year, with strong support from the state government.
He said the new centre will enable the Bank to roll out digital products and services while strengthening its IT capabilities. It will also help attract engineering talent from Assam, allowing professionals to contribute to next-generation banking technologies while staying closer to their home state.
The facility is expected to create career opportunities for skilled professionals in Assam and strengthen capabilities across AI, cloud, data and core engineering domains. The initiative aims to enhance core technology advancement and expand digital product creation capabilities in the state.
