Prime Minister lays foundation stone for redevelopment work virtually
Udaipur: Fatehnagar railway station in Udaipur district will be revamped under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday virtually inaugurated the redevelopment of 554 railway stations and 1500 railway over bridges and under bridges across the country. Fatehnagar station is also included in this. District Collector Arvind Poswal and other public representatives participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony held at Fatehnagar.
Udaipur City Station Superintendent Sharad Purohit said that 21 stations from Rajasthan including Fatehnagar are included in the 554 stations selected under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme. The foundation stone laying ceremony was held at Fatehnagar station on Monday. In this, the program of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was broadcast live. The program was attended by District Collector Arvind Poswal, MLA Mavli Pushkar Lal Danghi, former Speaker of Legislative Assembly Shanti Lal Chaplot, Chairperson of Fatehnagar Municipality Manju Lata Devi, social worker Chandraguptsingh, Narendra Singh Osaliya, Ganesh Lal Swarnakar, Radheshyam Baghla, Kailash Gadri, Ratan Singh Kitawat, Mukesh Khatik, Ritu Aggarwal etc. were present as guests. Senior Divisional Engineering Officer of Railways Sandeep Dhingra and others welcomed the guests.
Purohit said that Fatehnagar station will be redeveloped as a city center at a cost of Rs 18.50 crore. It will have facilities like roof plaza, shopping zone, food court, children’s play area etc. Separate entry and exit gates, multi-level parking, lifts, escalators, lounges, waiting rooms, travellators, disabled-friendly facilities are also included.
