Family health monitoring appears on Samsung Galaxy Watch

Samsung Galaxy Watch

According to the leaked code in the latest version of the Samsung Health app, the company plans to add a new useful feature to its smartwatches soon. You can monitor the health data of your child or other family members collected by the smart watch on your smartphone.

Initially, there will certainly be an approval process to allow a Samsung account to manage the health data of other accounts. Privacy and security controls are built in, so this feature should not be abused. Any member of the family group can stop sharing their information or change what and how much they share at any time. Access to a child’s health information requires parental or guardian consent.

Shared data will be automatically deleted and sharing permission will be revoked if you do not use it for an extended period of time and you will need to repeat the entire approval process. Your child or significant other will need to wear the Galaxy Watch regularly so it can charge data over time.

It’s not hard to guess that this feature will also be introduced in the upcoming Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, which will be officially released next week on July 10th. However, that won’t stop Samsung from including it in older smartwatch models, so here’s hoping. This will happen with the One UI 6 Watch update.
