Beijing, May 6: China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has released the operational status of the electronic information manufacturing industry for the first quarter of 2026. During this period, the industry experienced significant production growth, continuous export improvements, notable profit enhancements, rapid investment increases, and an overall positive development trend.
In the first quarter, the added value of the large-scale electronic information manufacturing industry grew by 13.6% compared to the same period last year, surpassing the industrial sector and high-tech manufacturing industries by 7.5 and 1.1 percentage points, respectively.
Additionally, the cumulative export distribution value of the electronic information manufacturing industry rose by 4.2% compared to the same period last year, which is 3 percentage points higher than the figures from January-February.
The industry achieved an operational revenue of 4.31 trillion yuan in the first quarter, marking a 14.8% increase from the previous year. The operational costs stood at 3.69 trillion yuan, reflecting an 11.7% rise compared to the same period last year, while total profits reached 2.17 trillion yuan, which is 1.25 times higher than the previous year.
