Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Addresses Bhupal Nobles Institution’s 104th Foundation Day in Udaipur

Udaipur, January 2 ((Udaipur Kiran)) : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited Udaipur on Friday and attended the 104th foundation day समारोह of Bhupal Nobles’ Institution at BN College Ground. The event was organised by the Vidya Pracharini Sabha and witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, academicians, and students.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, the Defence Minister said that true national strength emerges from education and self-reliance. He emphasised that education devoid of moral values serves little purpose for society. Describing himself as a teacher at heart, he said interacting with students always gives him deep satisfaction. He urged students to remain focused on their goals and move forward with determination and discipline.

Highlighting the importance of values in education, Shri Singh said universities are not merely institutions of learning but centres for shaping character and nation-building. He stressed that self-reliance is the foundation of a strong nation and that India is steadily moving forward on this path. He further stated that self-respect must never turn into arrogance, as humility is the true strength of knowledge.

Referring to Mewar’s glorious legacy, the Defence Minister praised former ruler Maharana Bhupal Singh for his unwavering patriotism and commitment to the nation. He said India’s ancient knowledge system and cultural heritage continue to guide the country’s progress. Emphasising the role of education, he said that true learning develops wisdom, discipline, and ethical values, without which society cannot progress.

Shri Singh also highlighted the importance of innovation and technological advancement in education, noting that learning must evolve with time. He stated that the National Education Policy aims to create well-rounded individuals capable of critical thinking and problem-solving. He added that India is steadily moving towards becoming a global knowledge hub and expressed confidence that the country would emerge as a self-reliant power and the world’s third-largest economy in the coming years.

Earlier, the Defence Minister was welcomed with cultural performances by students of the institution. The programme was attended by Chittorgarh MP Shri C.P. Joshi, Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, Nathdwara MLA and Mewar royal family member Shri Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, Salumber MLA Shanta Devi, senior officials, academicians, and a large number of students.

During the event, individuals who made significant contributions to Bhupal Nobles’ Institution were honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards.
