UDAIPUR, June 1, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : A special public awareness and cleanliness campaign was organised at the Ghata Wali Mataji Temple premises to promote environmental conservation and cleanliness under social responsibility initiatives. The campaign was conducted jointly by the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, Udaipur, Pacific Dental College and Hospital, Debari, and National Chemical Factory, Udaipur.
The main objective of the programme was to make the temple premises and surrounding areas free from polythene, clean, and environmentally safe. On the occasion, biodegradable bags were distributed among devotees and local residents, environmental awareness banners were installed, and dustbins were provided in the premises. A large-scale cleanliness drive was also carried out, and people were encouraged to maintain cleanliness.
As a special initiative of the programme, an eco-friendly havan was organised using Go-Kasth (environment-friendly wood made from cow dung). Through the havan, a message was given on the harmony between traditional Indian culture and environmental conservation, and public participation was encouraged for creating a clean and healthy environment.
Sharad Saxena, Regional Officer, Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, Udaipur, emphasised the need for community participation in environmental conservation and said that such efforts play an important role in increasing public awareness and achieving sustainable development goals.
Dr. A. B. Rai, Principal of Pacific Dental College and Hospital, said that the institution has always remained committed to social and environmental responsibilities and will continue to organise such public welfare programmes in the future.
Dr. Mohit Pal Singh, Hospital Superintendent of Pacific Dental College and Hospital, described cleanliness and a healthy environment as the foundation of public health and appealed to all citizens for active cooperation in environmental conservation.
The programme was attended by Laxmikant Vaishnav (National Chemical and Minerals, Udaipur), Rajendra (President, Laghu Udyog Bharati), Archana Singh (Rahda Foundation), Kamal Singh (Former Sarpanch, Bichhadi Panchayat), B. S. Shukla (General Manager, Blue Phosphate), Siddharth (Sadhana Phosphate), Abhishek Thakur (Resustainability), Girish (Udaipur Chamber of Commerce, Kaladwas), Kishore Singh and Ratan Singh (Shri Ghata Wali Mata (Chamunda Maa) Vikas Samiti, Debari, Udaipur), Umesh Paliwal, along with several dignitaries, industry representatives and local residents.
All the guests present appreciated the joint initiative and stressed the need to continue such campaigns for building a clean, green and pollution-free society.
