Consumer Pays Before Price Hike, Indane Agency Sends New Bill at Higher Rate

Udaipur, March 7 (Udaipur Kiran): A serious complaint has emerged against Udaipur Gas Agency Udaipur Rajasthan, an Indane LPG distributor, after a consumer was allegedly charged a higher price despite making the payment before the LPG price hike.

According to the details, the consumer booked a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder and made a digital payment of ₹884.50 on 6 March 2026. The payment was successfully processed and the booking invoice was generated, confirming the order at the existing price.

However, the gas cylinder was not delivered to the consumer on time. Later the same night, LPG prices were increased. Following the price hike, the consumer received a new invoice of ₹944.50 for the same booking, which was ₹60 higher than the amount already paid.

The consumer has alleged that despite completing the payment before the price hike, the agency delayed the delivery and then issued a new bill at the increased rate. According to consumer rights norms, once payment is made and the invoice is generated, the distributor is expected to deliver the cylinder at the booked price.

Local residents have raised concerns over the incident and questioned whether the delay in delivery was intentional in order to charge consumers at the new higher rate. They have demanded a proper investigation into the functioning of Udaipur Gas Agency.

Consumers have urged Indane Gas authorities and the district administration to take immediate notice of the matter and ensure strict action if any irregularities are found. They say such practices can severely affect consumer trust and should not be allowed to continue.
