Cold Wave in Rajasthan Eases as Temperatures Set to Stabilize

Jaipur, February 7: The ongoing cold wave in Rajasthan, driven by northerly winds, has caused temperatures to drop significantly over the past few days. Five cities recorded nighttime temperatures below 5°C, with Fatehpur experiencing the coldest night at 2.1°C. However, relief is on the way as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that temperatures will start to gradually rise in the coming days.

Cold Wave to Subside Soon

According to Radhey Shyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Department, Rajasthan is expected to experience dry weather for the next week. Currently, temperatures remain within normal ranges across most parts of the state, with minimum temperatures between 2°C and 4°C in the Shekhawati region. Over the next 48 hours, both minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to rise by 2-3°C, reducing the intensity of the cold. No cold wave conditions are expected in the coming days.

Temperature Trends Across Rajasthan

IMD data reveals that 21 cities recorded nighttime temperatures below 10°C. The coldest places in Rajasthan included:

  • Fatehpur: 2.1°C
  • Karauli: 3.8°C
  • Mount Abu: 4°C
  • Nagaur: 4.3°C
  • Lunkaransar: 4.6°C

Meanwhile, Barmer emerged as the warmest city, recording a maximum temperature of 29°C and a minimum of 12.2°C.

Jaipur’s Temperature Pattern

The state capital Jaipur has also been experiencing fluctuations in temperature due to persistent northerly winds. Residents continue to feel chilly mornings and evenings, while bright sunshine during the day provides some relief. Moderate winds blew across the city throughout the day, leading to a slight increase of 0.5°C in the maximum temperature, while night temperatures dipped by 0.2°C.

  • Maximum Temperature: 24.7°C
  • Minimum Temperature: 10.2°C

As Rajasthan transitions away from the cold wave, residents can expect warmer days ahead with gradual temperature increases over the next few days.
