Cash Worth ₹1.55 Lakh Seized from Kotdi Panchayat Officer in Kota Check

Jaipur, March 11, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): Acting on directions from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) headquarters, the ACB Kota unit conducted a surprise checking operation and recovered a suspicious amount of ₹1,55,275 from Ramvilas Meena, Development Officer of Panchayat Samiti Kotdi in Bhilwara district, who is currently under Awaiting Posting Order (APO).

According to officials, the ACB outpost in Kota received confidential information on March 10, 2026, stating that Ramvilas Meena had allegedly passed certain bills earlier and received illegal money from contractors even after being placed under APO. It was reported that he was travelling from Kotdi in Bhilwara to Kota in his Maruti Swift VDI car (Registration No. RJ17 CA 5312) with the suspected amount.

Based on the reliability of the information, the ACB team carried out a checking operation near the Hanging Bridge toll plaza on the Kota–Chittorgarh road. During the search of the vehicle and the officer, officials recovered ₹1,55,275 in cash from the car.

When questioned about the source of the money, Ramvilas Meena was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation. The ACB team subsequently seized the amount.

The operation was conducted under the direction of Deputy Inspector General of Police Anand Sharma. The checking was led by Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Swarnkar of ACB Kota, with the team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Anish Ahmed on March 10, 2026.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau stated that further action will be taken under the Prevention of Corruption Act as per rules.
