Bikaner, March 20 – A shocking incident has surfaced in Ballabh Garden, Bikaner, where the bodies of a businessman, his wife, and their daughter were discovered in their home. The businessman was found hanging from a ceiling hook, while his wife and daughter’s bodies were lying on the floor. Preliminary investigations suggest a case of mass suicide, but police are considering all possible angles.
Discovery of the Bodies
The Jai Narayan Vyas Colony Police were alerted by neighbors after a foul smell started emanating from the house. Upon arrival, they found 50-year-old businessman Nitin Khatri hanging, while his wife Rajni (45) and daughter Jessica (18) lay lifeless on the floor.
According to SHO Surendra Pachar, the house, located 300 meters inside from Chirag Hotel, had been closed for over 10-15 days, leading to decomposition of the bodies.
Police Investigation and Suspicions
Senior police officials, including SP Kavendra Singh Sagar and IPS Vishal Jangid, reached the scene. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and Mobile Forensic Unit (MOB) teams were called in to gather evidence.
Authorities suspect two possibilities:
- Mass suicide, where all three family members took their own lives.
- Murder-suicide, where Nitin Khatri may have killed his wife and daughter before hanging himself.
The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem, and further investigations will determine the exact cause of death.
Background of the Family
Nitin Khatri was a water and electrical fittings contractor who also ran a shop selling related equipment. The family had been living in Ballabh Garden for several years, and their daughter Jessica was a commerce student.
Neighbors reported that Nitin’s business was running well, ruling out financial distress as a possible cause.
