Almora, 30 December. A tragic road accident occurred on Tuesday morning in Almora district of Uttarakhand. A bus traveling from Bhikiyasain to Ramnagar on the Bhikiyasain-Vinayak motor route fell into a deep gorge. Six people lost their lives in the accident, while several passengers were seriously injured.
According to reports, the bus had started its journey towards Ramnagar and was carrying around 18 passengers. Upon receiving information about the accident, police, administration, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams reached the spot. Local residents are actively involved in the rescue operation. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his grief over the incident.
In a post on the social media platform X, CM Dhami wrote, “I have received the deeply saddening news of a bus accident on the Bhikiyasain-Vinayak motor route involving a bus traveling from Bhikiyasain to Ramnagar in Almora district, resulting in casualties. This incident is extremely painful and heart-wrenching. I pray to God to grant the departed souls peace and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this immense sorrow.”
He further added, “The injured passengers are being admitted promptly to nearby hospitals by the district administration. Those seriously injured have been referred to advanced medical centres for better treatment. The entire matter is under continuous monitoring, and I am in constant contact with local administrative officials. I wish a speedy recovery to all the injured.”
