New Delhi, February 19, 2025 – Rekha Gupta has been officially announced as the new Chief Minister of Delhi, with Pravesh Verma appointed as Deputy CM and Vijender Gupta as the Speaker of the Delhi Assembly. The decision was finalized in the BJP’s legislative party meeting on Wednesday evening.
This development confirms earlier reports by Dainik Bhaskar, which had exclusively revealed that the RSS had recommended Rekha Gupta’s name, and the BJP had accepted it.

✔ Ravi Shankar Prasad and Om Prakash Dhankhar were appointed as observers for the selection process.
✔ Ahead of the legislative party meeting, the observers individually consulted all BJP MLAs to gauge consensus.
✔ During the meeting, Satish Upadhyay and Vijender Gupta formally proposed Rekha Gupta’s name, which was unanimously accepted.
