Bharti Airtel gains on forming joint venture with Hughes to provide satellite broadband services in India

Bharti Airtel is currently trading at Rs. 704.95, up by 4.90 points or 0.70% from its previous closing of Rs. 700.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 701.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 710.00 and Rs. 700.50 respectively. So far 119253 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 781.90 on 24-Nov-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 490.36 on 25-Mar-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 710.00 and Rs. 679.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 411931.47 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 55.86%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 39.02% and 5.13% respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Hughes Communications India (HCIPL), a majority-owned subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), have formed a joint venture to provide satellite broadband services in India.

Operational as HCIPL, the entity combines the Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) businesses of both companies to offer flexible and scalable enterprise networking solutions using satellite connectivity for primary transport, back-up and hybrid implementation. The agreement, announced in May 2019, has received all statutory approvals, including those from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and Department of Telecom (Government of India) and the joint venture has been formed.
