Assistant Engineer Held Taking ₹15,000 Bribe in Beawar

Jaipur, March 16 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Pradeep Kumar, Assistant Engineer of Panchayat Samiti Raipur in Beawar district, while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 in a trap operation conducted by the Rajsamand unit.

According to ACB officials, Pradeep Kumar was also holding additional charge as Assistant Engineer in the office of the Women and Child Development Department, Raipur block.

Director General of Police, ACB, Govind Gupta said that a complaint was received alleging that the accused had been demanding a bribe of ₹21,000 from the complainant for filling the Measurement Book (MB) related to pending bills.

During the preliminary inquiry, it also came to light that Manish Meena, CDPO Badnor (holding additional charge as CDPO Raipur, Beawar district), had allegedly demanded ₹2,30,000 for clearing the complainant’s bills and had agreed to accept ₹1,80,000. However, further action against him could not be taken after he reportedly got information about the trap proceedings.

Following verification of the complaint, a trap operation was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Rameshwar Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, ACB. The operation was led by Himmat Charan, Additional Superintendent of Police, ACB Rajsamand, along with his team.

During the operation, the accused Pradeep Kumar was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount of ₹15,000 from the complainant.

ACB Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava is supervising the ongoing interrogation and proceedings in the case. Further investigation under the Prevention of Corruption Act is being carried out by the bureau.
