Jaipur, October 27 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jhunjhunu unit on Monday caught Nirmal Soni, Assistant Administrative Officer, Tehsil Office Sardarshahar, District Churu, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹90,000.

According to DGP, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Govind Gupta, a complaint had been filed alleging that the accused officer demanded ₹1 lakh as a bribe from a complainant for the conversion of agricultural land at the Sardarshahar Tehsil Office.
After receiving the complaint, a discreet verification of the bribe demand was conducted on October 25, 2025, during which the accused was found demanding ₹90,000 on behalf of himself and the Tehsildar for approving the land conversion.
Following this verification, an ACB team organized a trap operation, during which the accused, Nirmal Soni, accepted the bribe amount from the complainant and kept the money in the pocket of his trousers. The ACB recovered the full bribe amount of ₹90,000 from his possession.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Rajesh Singh, DIG, ACB Jaipur Range, and led by Shabbir Khan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, ACB Jhunjhunu Unit.
Further interrogation and legal proceedings are underway under the supervision of Additional DGP Smita Srivastava. The Bureau has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is in progress.
