Itanagar : Arunachal Pradesh continues to see the rapid decline in Covid19 positive cases. The hilly state on Wednesday recorded more recoveries (49) than the fresh infections (28), as a result of which its active caseload has reduced to 246, a senior health official said.
Following detection of the new Covid cases, the state’s tally of confirmed cases has increased to 64,341, while the fresh recoveries took the total number of recovered cases to 63,799, he said. Nine of the fresh cases were detected in Itanagar Capital Complex, while three cases came from Lower Subansiri, and two each from Anjaw, Changlang, Lohit, Longding, Lower Siang and Namsai.
14 cases each turned out to be asymptomatic and symptomatic. The state had tested 586 samples for Covid19 that took its cumulative count to 12,61,118. The day’s positivity rate was 4.8 per cent. Arunachal Pradesh’s Covid19 death toll remained at 296 as it did not report any fresh casualty during the last 24 hours, the official said.
The state’s active Covid cases comprise 0.38 per cent of the overall infections, while the recovery rate has further improved to 99.16 per cent and the fatality rate stood at 0.46 per cent, he said.
