Jaipur, September 28 (Kiran News) – In a major breakthrough under Operation Cyber Sangram aimed at curbing online fraud and cybercrime, Alwar Police have arrested seven accused involved in providing mule bank accounts to cyber fraudsters on commission.

Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary said that the investigation revealed suspicious transactions worth ₹2.06 crore across multiple bank accounts used for cyber fraud. The operation was led by SHO Rajesh Kumar under the supervision of ASP Headquarters Kamble Sharan Gopinath and Additional SP (Rural) Dr. Priyanka Raghuvanshi.
The arrested accused include account holders Sonia Meena (20), Priya Meena (27), and Anil Meena (21), account suppliers Sanjay Kumar Meena, and fund handlers Kapil Kumar (25), Mridul Kumar (20), and Anil Singh Jat (23) from Uttar Pradesh.
Fraudulent Accounts and Modus Operandi
According to the Cyber Cell, 40 complaints of cyber fraud were linked to two suspicious bank accounts in Bank of Baroda and Punjab & Sind Bank, registered under the names of Priya Meena and Sonia Meena, operating under the firm name Sonia Beauty Parlour. During interrogation, the women confessed they had sold their accounts to Sanjay and Anil Meena for ₹20,000 each, believing they would be used for online trading and gaming apps.
However, these accounts were later transferred to key scam operators Kapil Singh, Mridul Kumar, and Anil Singh, who used them to launder cyber fraud funds. The funds were withdrawn via ATMs or converted into USDT cryptocurrency in exchange for commissions.
Recovery and Investigation
Police recovered 1 laptop, 30 ATM cards, 7 mobile phones, 2 cheque books, and 2 diaries containing transaction records.
The gang’s modus operandi involved luring innocent individuals to open current or corporate accounts in their names for a small payment. These accounts were then sold to cyber fraud masterminds, who used them to transfer proceeds from online scams.
A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 and the Information Technology Act. Further investigation is underway.
