Barmer Police Arrest ₹10,000 Rewarded Rape Accused Under ‘Dharkarbhar’ Campaign

Jaipur, September 28 (Kiran News) – In a major success under the Dharkarbhar campaign launched to nab wanted criminals, Barmer Police have arrested a ₹10,000 rewarded rape accused, who was among the Top-10 wanted offenders at the police station level.

Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Meena informed that the accused, Gorakharam Jat (29), son of Hanumanram and resident of Mahiyon Ki Dhani Ekal, Bakhassar, had been absconding for around two and a half months.

A case was registered against Gorakharam at Bakhassar Police Station for allegedly raping a woman after threatening her. Following the incident, he went underground, prompting the police to announce a ₹10,000 reward for his arrest.

Under the supervision of Additional SP Jasaram Bos and Circle Officer Madan Singh, a special team led by SHO Govind Ram (Dhanau Police Station) closely monitored the absconding accused using technical surveillance and intelligence inputs.

After detailed investigation, the police traced the accused hiding in Kohra village, Jaisalmer district. Acting swiftly, the team raided the area and arrested Gorakharam from fields near the border village.

SP Meena confirmed that this marks the 154th success under the ongoing Dharkarbhar campaign.

The operation was executed by SHO Govind Ram along with Head Constable Ratan Lal, Constables Chutra Ram, Premaram, Jaisaram, Jabararam, Babulal, and Lady Constable Sohni.
