Patna, May 10: The Congress party has raised serious questions regarding the formation of the BJP government in West Bengal. Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram expressed sharp criticism of the entire situation on Saturday, claiming that significant irregularities occurred during the electoral process in the state.
In an exclusive conversation with a news agency, he alleged that there was widespread vote theft in West Bengal, and the role of the Election Commission has come under suspicion. He specifically mentioned Election Commission officer Gyanesh Kumar, stating that these incidents took place in his presence.
Ram further stated that approximately 2.7 million voters’ names were removed from the electoral rolls, following the prior removal of around 72,000 to 73,000 names. He asserted that this action was taken unilaterally, indicating direct involvement of the Election Commission. Additionally, he accused various government agencies of being involved in this process, collectively influencing the power shift in Bengal.
The Congress leader emphasized that the decision of victory or defeat in elections is no longer in the hands of the public but is being predetermined in favor of certain parties. He described this as a serious concern for the democratic system, claiming that attempts have been made to form a government while sidelining the Constitution, democratic processes, and the rights of voters.
Ram highlighted that the most shocking aspect is the disregard for the Constitution, as democratic principles and voters’ rights have been undermined. Allegations of vote theft have surfaced, and it is through this very process that a government is now being formed.
