Udaipur, March 14, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The 45th two-day free mass wedding ceremony for specially-abled and economically weaker couples began today at Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Seva Mahateerth campus in Badi. A total of 51 couples from different states of the country will tie the knot with Vedic rituals and begin a new chapter of their lives.

On the first day of the ceremony, various religious and cultural programmes are being organised following traditional rituals. Several brides and grooms participating in the event have earlier received free treatment, surgeries, artificial limbs, or assistive devices from the institution.
Sansthan President Prashant Agarwal said that on the second day, all couples will take the seven sacred vows around the holy fire with Vedic chanting and formally enter married life. The newlyweds will also be presented with essential household items to help them start their family life. Guests, social workers, and donors from different states are participating in the two-day event.
Among the couples is the inspiring pair of Madhu Bhoi and Santosh Kumar Lodha, whose story reflects courage and hope. Madhu Bhoi, a resident of Shastri Nagar-Khempura in Udaipur, is specially-abled in her left leg but has shown strong determination. She works at a beauty parlour in the city and lives an independent life. Her family includes her mother Prem Bai, a brother and four sisters, while her father Kanhaiya Lal has passed away. Despite limited resources and financial challenges, Madhu continued to support her family without losing hope.
Santosh Kumar Lodha, from Naulana village in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh, has also faced significant hardships. He suffered paralysis at the age of six months, but his parents, Ramesh Chandra and Bhagu Bai, supported him through every challenge and ensured his education. Today, Santosh works as a school teacher and leads a dignified life.
Due to disability and financial constraints, their marriage had been delayed for a long time. They met during a programme, and after understanding each other’s struggles and determination, their interaction grew into a bond that led them to decide to become life partners.
Now, along with 50 other couples, Madhu and Santosh will begin their married life at the Narayan Seva Sansthan mass wedding ceremony. The event is not just a wedding celebration but a moment where the dreams of many families come true, bringing together stories of struggle, self-reliance, and companionship.
