Yogi Government Announces Strict Measures to Curb Fuel and Gold Consumption

Lucknow, May 13: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued comprehensive directives aimed at promoting self-reliance and stringent austerity measures. He has urged the people of Uttar Pradesh to support Prime Minister Modi’s national call for resource conservation.

In a high-level meeting with top administrative and police officials in Lucknow, the Chief Minister announced an immediate 50% reduction in the vehicle fleet of himself, state ministers, and other dignitaries, along with an order to remove all non-essential vehicles from official convoys.

This appeal is not limited to the government; it also calls on state residents to reduce fuel consumption and avoid unnecessary purchases of gold. Highlighting global instability, he emphasized the need for collective caution and financial discipline in the current situation.

As an example, he suggested that all public representatives, including Members of Parliament and State Assembly members, should use public transport at least once a week. To modernize administrative operations, the Chief Minister directed a prioritization of work-from-home culture.

Industrial establishments and large startups have been encouraged to adopt a work-from-home arrangement for at least two days a week. Additionally, at least 50% of government meetings, seminars, and workshops in state secretariats and directorates should now be conducted online.

To reduce energy costs, the state government is focusing on natural gas (PNG), metro rail services, and electric vehicles. The Chief Minister also launched the ‘Visit My State’ campaign to promote domestic tourism and destination weddings in Uttar Pradesh, leveraging the state’s rich heritage and eco-friendly tourist spots.
