Lucknow, June 16: Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged misappropriation of funds for the Ram Temple, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to visit Ayodhya on June 19. This visit has become a focal point of discussion, especially in light of the recent investigation into the donation issues.
A thorough inquiry has been ordered regarding the Ram Temple donation controversy. The investigation team is currently interrogating temple staff and scrutinizing their conduct over the past few days to uncover any potential misuse of funds. All eyes are on Yogi Adityanath’s statements regarding this matter.
The situation has escalated into a political storm, with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav accusing temple officials of large-scale irregularities, financial mismanagement, and alleged manipulation of donations.
Adityanath’s visit coincides with the birthday celebrations of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the president of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which will take place on June 27. Mahant Nritya Gopal Das will turn 88 years old, and a conference of spiritual leaders is being organized to mark the occasion, alongside the commencement of a ten-day Shri Ram Katha starting June 19.
Invitations have been sent to various chief ministers for this grand event, and reports suggest that several have already confirmed their attendance. Yogi Adityanath will arrive in Ayodhya on the day the Shri Ram Katha begins.
A three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Uttar Pradesh government is currently investigating the allegations of missing donations at the famous Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi, the SIT is led by Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, Inspector General of Police Kiran S, and Special Secretary of the Finance Department Neel Ratan. The SIT has been instructed to submit an initial report within seven days and a final report within fifteen days.
