Yellow Alert for Rain and Strong Winds in Delhi-NCR

Noida, July 18: The weather in Delhi-NCR is experiencing continuous changes these days. While intense sunlight and humidity have been troubling residents, sudden cloud cover, rain, and strong winds have also brought some relief.

According to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert has been issued for rain, thunderstorms, and winds gusting at 30 to 40 kilometers per hour on July 18 in Delhi-NCR. A yellow alert for heat and humidity has also been issued for July 19.

The IMD’s seven-day forecast indicates that the maximum temperature on July 18 is expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 29 degrees Celsius. The day will be hot and humid, but light rain with thunder and lightning, along with strong winds, is anticipated in the afternoon. Due to this, the weather department has advised residents to remain cautious.

On July 19, the maximum temperature is expected to remain at 37 degrees and the minimum at 28 degrees Celsius. Although rain with thunder is likely, the day will still be hot and humid in the afternoon and evening, prompting the weather department to issue a yellow alert for heat and humidity. A significant change in weather is expected thereafter.

From July 20 to 23, the maximum temperature is predicted to drop to 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum to 26 degrees on July 20, with similar temperatures expected on the following days. Rain with thunder is likely to continue throughout this period.

The good news is that no warnings have been issued by the weather department from July 20 to 23. The IMD’s forecast indicates that the maximum temperatures in Delhi-NCR will remain below normal throughout the week, providing relief from the severe heat and humidity experienced in recent days. However, the weather may change rapidly due to intermittent rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds.

Experts have urged people to avoid standing in open areas, under trees, or near electric poles during thunderstorms. Drivers are advised to exercise caution while driving in the rain.

This week, the weather in Delhi-NCR is expected to change significantly. While today’s rain and strong winds may provide relief, tomorrow’s humidity could pose challenges for residents. Following this, a drop in temperature and sporadic rain are likely to offer respite from the intense heat throughout the week.
