Jaipur, July 25: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange and Yellow Alert for rainfall across Rajasthan on Saturday, warning of heavy to very heavy showers in several parts of the state.
Heavy rainfall was recorded in Sirohi, Jodhpur, Barmer, Pali and Jalore on Friday. Mount Abu in Sirohi district received 195 mm (around 8 inches) of rainfall, while torrential rain in Jodhpur led to knee-deep waterlogging on several roads.
Monsoon to Remain Active Till July 27
According to the weather department, the monsoon is expected to remain active across Rajasthan until July 27. From July 28, rainfall activity is likely to weaken once again.
Heavy to Very Heavy Rain Likely
Jaipur Meteorological Centre Director Radheshyam Sharma said parts of the Udaipur and Jodhpur divisions are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next two days.
He added that moderate to heavy rainfall is also expected in parts of the Bikaner, Ajmer, Kota, Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions.

- Bapini (Jodhpur): 81 mm
- Karanpur (Sri Ganganagar): 66 mm
- Garhbor (Rajsamand): 47 mm
- Kumbhalgarh: 28 mm
- Jawai (Pali): 97 mm
- Desuri (Pali): 38 mm
- Pali city: 27 mm
- Jawaja (Ajmer): 52 mm
- Sarwar (Ajmer): 50 mm
- Kalyanpur (Barmer): 57 mm
- Balotra: 56 mm
More Than 40 Dams Receive Water
Following continuous rainfall over the past few days, water inflow has increased significantly in reservoirs across the state.
More than 40 dams, which were previously dry, have started receiving water since July 2. Meanwhile, Morel Dam in Dausa and Man Sagar Dam in Tonk have reached full capacity.
Drought-Like Conditions Persist in 12 Districts
Despite the recent rainfall, the delayed arrival of the monsoon and prolonged dry spells have resulted in drought-like conditions in 12 districts.
Only Beawar, Bikaner, Didwana-Kuchaman, Phalodi and Salumbar have recorded above-normal rainfall this season.
Drought-like conditions continue in Banswara, Dausa, Dungarpur, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Karauli, Khairthal-Tijara, Pali, Sawai Madhopur, Sirohi and Udaipur, while 27 districts have so far received below-average rainfall.
