Jaipur, April 4 – Rajasthan witnessed a shift in weather on Thursday evening due to the impact of a western disturbance, bringing cloud cover and gusty winds to eastern parts of the state including Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, and Jhunjhunu. Some areas in Jhunjhunu and Alwar even reported light showers.
While the eastern regions experienced slight weather relief, the western districts of Jaisalmer and Barmer recorded a sharp spike in temperatures, crossing the 41°C mark. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), clear skies are expected across the state for the next two days, but a heatwave is likely to grip western Rajasthan starting April 6.

Meteorologists have issued a yellow alert for Jaisalmer and Barmer on April 6, warning residents of potential heatwave conditions. The maximum temperature in Jaisalmer was recorded at 42.4°C, while Barmer followed closely at 41.2°C. Meanwhile, Jaipur saw a daytime high of 36.2°C, which later eased due to cloud cover and cool winds.
Looking ahead, April 7 could see heatwave conditions extend to districts like Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Bhilwara, prompting the local administration to urge caution.
