New Delhi, November 12 (Udaipur Kiran): According to the latest report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), Vivo emerged as the top smartphone brand in India by volume during the third quarter (Q3) of 2025, capturing an 18.3% market share, the highest in the industry. OPPO followed in second place with a 13.9% share, while Samsung, Apple, Realme, and Xiaomi secured 12.6%, 10.4%, 9.8%, and 9.2% market shares respectively.

Apple Regains Lead in Premium Segment
In the premium and ultra-premium categories, Apple reclaimed the top spot from Samsung, driven by strong sales of the iPhone 16, iPhone 15, and iPhone 17 series. The super-premium smartphone segment saw remarkable 52.9% year-on-year growth, with its market share rising from 6% to 8% in Q2 2025, highlighting India’s growing appetite for high-end smartphones.
Apple’s iPhone shipments grew 25.6%, supported by steady demand for both new and previous-generation models. Meanwhile, Samsung performed strongly with devices such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Fold7, maintaining its dominance in the flagship category.
Motorola Sees Highest Growth, OnePlus Faces Decline
The report also highlighted mixed performances among other key players. Motorola recorded the highest growth rate of 52.4%, primarily due to its offline expansion strategy, which helped the brand gain market traction in India.
In contrast, OnePlus experienced a 30.5% decline in shipment volume during the quarter. Analysts attribute this drop to the lingering impact of the green line display issue on consumer sentiment. However, OnePlus has been expanding its offline presence, which could aid recovery in the coming quarters.
Premium Demand on the Rise
IDC noted a sustained increase in consumer demand for premium and super-premium smartphones, as Indian users continue to spend more time on digital platforms for work, entertainment, and communication. The trend indicates strong growth potential for flagship and high-end devices in the Indian smartphone market going forward.
