Udaipur, April 4 (Udaipur Kiran): Emphasising the importance of moral learning in modern times, historian and Founder Secretary General of the Global History Forum, Prof Ajat Shatru Shivrati, said that value-based education is essential for shaping the new generation. He was addressing an international seminar organised by Mewar University, Chittorgarh on April 3–4 on the theme “Traditional Knowledge, Green Economy and Opportunities for Entrepreneurship for Rural Development and Sustainable Livelihoods,” where he attended as the chief guest and chaired a technical session.

Prof Shivrati noted that the new education policy will act as a source of inspiration for the youth and help in building a value-oriented society. He stressed that in today’s materialistic and technology-driven era, Sanskar-based education (value-based education) is crucial as it goes beyond textbook knowledge and nurtures qualities like humility, honesty, empathy, and discipline.
He added that such education helps children differentiate between right and wrong, making them morally strong and contributing to reducing crime and selfish tendencies in society. According to him, value-based education will play a vital role in making India a Vishwaguru by 2047, as it shapes individuals into responsible and balanced human beings.
On the occasion, Siddharth Rajhans (UN Policy Advisor, Government of India) was present as the chief guest. The programme was chaired by Govindlal Gadia (Chairperson, Mewar University), with participation from Prof Alok Mishra (Vice Chancellor, Mewar University), Prem Kumar (Mass Media Head, Government of India), Prof Hanuman Prasad (Dean, Management, MLSU University), Prof Jeevan Singh Kharkwal (Director, Sahitya Sanstha), Prof G.L.
