Sinner commented, “We know each other very well. There have been some tough matches this year. Last time, his match was long, and he couldn’t fully utilise his serve. I broke him in every set, which gave me confidence. Playing the night session for the first time is a special experience. Thanks to the crowd, it’s a very special occasion for us.”

In the first set, Sinner took a 4-0 lead with a double break and closed out the set with a brilliant backhand winner. With this victory, Sinner has now reached the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam for the eighth consecutive time. In the upcoming quarterfinal, Sinner will face fellow Italian Lorenzo Musetti. Sinner remarked, “Italian tennis is going through a great phase. We have many players with different styles. Lorenzo is one of the biggest talents. Having an Italian player in the semifinals is a matter of pride for us. There are also many Italian fans in the stands, which makes it even more special.”
