New York, 3 September (Kiran News) : Novak Djokovic showcased his champion form at the Arthur Ashe Stadium on Tuesday, defeating America’s Taylor Fritz 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 to enter the semifinals of the US Open 2025. The 38-year-old Serbian will now face Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz in the next round.

Despite having won all his previous 10 encounters against Fritz, Djokovic faced a tough challenge this time. In the first set, he saved five break points in the ninth game to take the lead and sealed the second set with a powerful crosscourt shot.
Fritz, the fourth seed, put up a spirited fight and managed to win the third set, raising hopes among the home crowd. However, Djokovic regained his rhythm in the fourth set, establishing a 5-4 lead and eventually closing out the match in his favour.
With this victory, Djokovic remains unbeaten against American players at the US Open, improving his record to 16-0. He continues his strong pursuit of a record 25th Grand Slam title.
