Ukrainian FM urges India to use its influence on Russia to cease aggression

New Delhi, Feb 25 : Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has urged India to use its influence in its relations with Russia to force it to cease military aggression against Ukraine. In his phone conversation with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Kuleba also urged India India as a non-permanent UN Security Council member to support today’s draft resolution on restoring peace in Ukraine. “Call with my Indian counterpart @DrSJaishankar. “Asked India to use all influence in its relations with Russia to force it to cease military aggression against Ukraine. “Urged India as a non-permanent UNSC member to support today’s draft resolution on restoring peace in Ukraine.” EAM Jaishankar during his conversation stressed that India supports diplomacy and dialogue as the way out of the Ukrainian crisis. The EAM in a tweet said that his Ukrainian counterpart shared his assessment of the current situation in Ukraine. The two also discussed the predicament of Indian nationals, including students in Ukraine, who are seeking to be evacuated following the Russian invasion, and the EAM appreciated the Ukrainian minister’s support for their safe return. “Received call from Ukrainian FM @DmytroKuleba “He shared his assessment of the current situation. “I emphasized that India supports diplomacy & dialogue as the way out. “Discussed predicament of Indian nationals, including students. “Appreciate his support for their safe return.”On Thursday the Ukrainian envoy in India had sought India’s active intervention to stop the Russian aggression in his country.
