
Every year, Travel + Leisure (L+T) magazine conducts the World’s Best Awards survey to gather feedback on your travel experiences around the world.
186,000 T+L readers participated in the 2024 survey. They shared their opinions on hotels, cities, ships, resorts, airlines, islands, etc.
This year, India’s Udaipur topped the list of Asia’s most popular and culturally rich cities. Additionally, three more Indian cities including Mumbai, Kolkata and Jaipur are on the list.
From modern metropolises to ancient capitals, L+T readers considered the diversity of Asia when choosing their favorite cities in the region. Cities were rated based on factors such as attractions/centres, culture, food, friendliness, shopping and value for money.
Meanwhile, other cities have made the list, from ancient Hoi An in Vietnam to Siem Reap in Cambodia, the gateway to the Khmer temples of Angkor Wat. Readers liked Japan and Thailand, it hit two goals each.
