
Udaipur : Udaipur Police on Sunday busted a fake call center in the city’s Sajannagar area. Six people, all from Dungarpur district, were arrested in the operation.
According to police, the accused were running the call center to dupe people by posting fake photos of women on websites. They would then contact people who responded to the ads and demand money in advance. Once the money was transferred, the accused would block the victims’ numbers.
The police seized 15 mobile phones, 19 ATM cards, and other electronic devices from the call center. They also found that the accused had opened fake bank accounts in other people’s names.
The accused have been identified as:
Dayalal Patel (26), son of Mogji Patel, resident of Kheda Samor, Tehsil Dovada, District Dungarpur
Bharat Patel (24), son of Hirji Patel, resident of Badoda Aspur, District Dungarpur
Roshan Patel (26), son of Nathuji Patel, resident of Kheda Samor, Tehsil Dovada, District Dungarpur
Hitesh Patel (21), son of Laling Patel, resident of Kalyana, Tehsil Aspur, District Dungarpur
Praveen Patel (23), son of Mokji Patel, resident of Kheda Samor, Tehsil Dovada, District Dungarpur
Kapil Patel (24), son of Bhanaji Patel, resident of Gadha Eklingji, Tehsil Aspur, District Dungarpur
The accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. They are being interrogated to find out if they are involved in any other cases.
