Udaipur, May 29 — In a landmark initiative aimed at transforming rural development in Udaipur district, Member of Parliament Dr. Manna Lal Rawat has announced a series of micro-level projects under the Prime Minister’s District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) scheme. These projects are focused on boosting education, healthcare, employment, agriculture, and infrastructure across Udaipur city, Udaipur rural, Kherwara, Jhadol, and Gogunda constituencies.

Focus on Livelihood, Education, and Healthcare
Addressing the local media, Dr. Rawat emphasized that the DMFT-funded initiatives will empower local communities and reduce migration from rural areas by creating localized employment opportunities. Skill development training for youth and women will be conducted, with a focus on enabling self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
In a significant step for the education sector, government schools will be equipped with Mathematics labs and robotics labs, ensuring modern learning tools for students. Furthermore, PHC (Primary Health Centre) buildings will be renovated to enhance healthcare services in underserved areas.
Major Approvals Secured Under DMFT Scheme
Dr. Rawat expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for approving these vital projects. A total of over ₹25 crore has been sanctioned for the following works:
₹600 lakh for skill development and livelihood training for youth and women.
₹625 lakh for renovation and construction of new classrooms in government schools.
₹129 lakh for distributing improved seeds and fruit-bearing plants to promote horticulture among farmers.
₹800 lakh for new anicuts, deepening of wells, hand pumps, construction of village water spots, beautification of ponds, and canal development.
₹55 lakh for renovation of 11 PHC buildings.
₹329 lakh for road and culvert construction along with other infrastructure upgrades.
A First-of-Its-Kind Rural Development Effort in Udaipur
This initiative marks the first time Udaipur has seen such a holistic and integrated development strategy under the DMFT scheme. With a strong focus on grassroots empowerment and sustainable rural growth, these efforts are expected to bring long-term improvements in the quality of life across tribal and remote regions of the district.
