Udaipur, July 28 – The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) has emerged as a significant opportunity for youth employment across Rajasthan. As per information shared in Parliament, a total of 1,86,018 candidates secured employment under the first three phases of PMKVY in 33 districts of Rajasthan, including Udaipur, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, and Banswara. Out of these, 11,443 youths from these four districts benefited directly from the scheme.

This information was provided by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, in response to a question raised in Parliament by Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat.
Question Raised on District-Wise Employment Figures
MP Dr. Rawat had asked for district-wise data from the last five years on how many individuals were trained and employed under PMKVY, particularly in the districts of Udaipur, Dungarpur, Salumber, Pratapgarh, and Banswara. Responding to this, the ministry shared detailed statistics on skill training and employment under the PMKVY scheme.
PMKVY Benefiting Youth Since 2015
The Ministry stated that since 2015, PMKVY has been implemented to provide skill training across India, including Rajasthan, through short-term training (STT) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). These initiatives aim at skill development, reskilling, and upskilling of youth.
The scheme also leverages digital tools like the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) to expand access. During the first three phases of PMKVY, 1,86,018 candidates were placed in jobs in Rajasthan, including the tribal-dominated districts of southern Rajasthan. In total, 4,48,725 youth have been trained under PMKVY in the state in the last five years.
Focus on PMKVY 4.0 Implementation
The ministry informed that several initiatives have been taken to ensure the successful implementation and promotion of the latest version of the scheme — PMKVY 4.0 — which has been operational since 2022. These steps aim to widen the reach of the programme and provide skill-based employment to youth across the country, including in Rajasthan.
