Two Pakistani Terrorists Killed in Udhampur in September
On September 17, 2026, exactly one month before the latest encounter, two Pakistani terrorists affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed were killed during an operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district. A suspect was also detained.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police identified the two deceased terrorists as Saddam and Mustafa.
According to the police, security personnel recovered an AK assault rifle with four magazines, an M4 carbine with three magazines, a Glock pistol with two magazines and four grenades during the operation.
Infiltration Attempts Often Increase Before Winter
Infiltration attempts along the Line of Control often increase before the onset of winter. Heavy snowfall can close mountain passes and make several routes difficult to access, potentially prompting terrorists to attempt to enter the Kashmir Valley before these routes become inaccessible.
During this period, the Army generally increases surveillance along sensitive stretches of the LoC and intensifies patrolling and security operations to prevent infiltration attempts.
