Two militants killed in south Kashmir’s Kulgam

Srinagar, April 11 : Two militants including a Pakistani were killed and two policemen wounded in a gun battle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday evening, officials said. They said the gun battle erupted at the Khurbatpora area during a cordon and a search operation following an input about militants’ presence. As the joint team of forces cordoned the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire triggering a gunfight. Police said two militants were killed. “One Pakistani terrorist (code name Chacha) & one hybrid terrorist were killed. Two Police Personnel also injured. They are being evacuated to hospital. Encounter going on,” Inspector General of Kashmir was quoted in police tweet. This is the second encounter in Kulgam in last three days. On Saturday militants and forces exchanged brief firing at Chaki Samad, Damhal Hanjipora Kulgam during a cordon and search operation. However, militants had managed to escape. MJR SHK2020
